This week's Thrifty Thursday covers the cost savings of using a fuel saver or gas app on your phone. Whether it be a specific fuel saver, rewards credit card, or even an app on your phone, using some sort of application to save money on your daily commute definitely has its benefits. CreditSoup breaks it down for you here in our weekly Thrifty Thursday tip on saving money.
Fuel Savers
If you're from the Midwest USA, you're probably familiar with what we call the HyVee Fuel Saver. HyVee Stores are our local grocery stores and some have a smaller fuel station. They have a type of rewards card that you earn discounts on gas when you purchase designated products at Hy-Vee. One shopper, for instance, posted on Twitter that that his 20 gallons of gas cost him a whopping 18 cents!
Gas Rewards Cards
Moving on... another way to save money on fuel, is by obtaining a credit card that offers rewards on gas/fuel purchases. Aspire®, for example, is one of them. With the Aspire® Mastercard® Credit Card, you earn a 3% cash back reward on Gas, Groceries and Utility Payments. If the Aspire® card isn't a good fit for you, CreditSoup has several available options to look into.
Gas Apps
Finally, we bring you to our list of Gas Apps. This is a compilation of sources that will help you find the cheapest gas or fuel in your area and some that you can earn rewards or cash back just by using the app. We have categorized these into earning rewards, or simply finding the best gas prices for your area. Give them a try and save money on your daily commute!
